Drawing from Imagination

This course is concerned with identifying and accurately depicting any given situation using the correct perspective/foreshortening lighting. For those who want to draw the human figure, animals, creatures, landscapes in convincing space without using direct reference.

Graduates from this course will have the ability to make anything they can imagine look convincingly solid and fit into its environment in perfect perspective.

This is an essential ability for anyone wanting to work realistically and communicate 3 dimensions on a 2D surface. Plotting reflections and the position and shape of shadows from a certain light source will also be covered.

I designed the course to fill a hole, I felt that many students were lacking this basic knowledge of perspective and were incapable of thinking in three dimensions and therefore unable to create images involving convincing forms, anatomies and sense of space. This ability has proven invaluable in my career.

I want students to leave the Academy confident that they can tackle any drawing challenge a client may throw at them.
